Pharos License Key
Pharos License Upgrader

Introduction

This package contains your new Pharos License Key.

To apply your license, you must download two files:

  • The Pharos License Upgrader, which will apply a Hot Fix to the Pharos License Server for Pharos versions 5.3 - 7.2 and install your new license at the same time.
  • Windows Installer 3.1, which is required by the Pharos License Upgrader.

These files can be downloaded from the Pharos Knowledge Base - see article #1258.

Note: In a new install of Pharos 7.2, you should run the License Upgrader after installing the Principal Server, but before installing any other Pharos components. (You will be asked to supply your License Key during the install of the Principal Server.)

Installation

To update your license and apply the Hot Fix:

  1. Copy all files to the same location on the License Server PC.
  2. Run the PharosLicenseUpgrader.exe executable.
  3. If the License Upgrader halts and asks for Windows Installer 3.1:
    1. Run the WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe executable. This will require a reboot.
    2. Run the PharosLicenseUpgrader.exe executable again once you have rebooted.

This applies the new license information to the registry, and applies the Hot Fix if a Pharos version between 5.3 and 7.2 is detected.

Once the Hot Fix is applied, the version number of the License Server executable will be updated to 7.2.4281.

The application of this Hot Fix constitutes acceptance of the conditions specified in your license agreement. To view the license agreement, please refer to the file 'license.rtf' on your Pharos CD.

Details

The Hot Fix supplied with this package updates the License Server so that it is compatible with new licenses generated by Pharos Systems.
